James Alton Strickland, 60, of Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born December 22, 1955 in Nash County. James was preceded in death by his father Charlie B. Strickland and brother Gerald L. Strickland.

He is survived by, his mother, Rachel Gardner Strickland; three sisters, Faye S. Perry and her husband, Larry of Spring Hope, Robin Strickland of Rocky Mount and Vickie S. Carlyle, and her husband, Eugene of Spring Hope.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1 pm at Spring Hope Church of God with Rev. Larry Perry and Rev. Charles Collie officiating. Visitation will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
