Shonda Burgess Matthews, age 34 of Spring Hope, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Flat Rock Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 6730 Flat Rock Road, Sims. Interment, Spring Hope Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Freeman Matthews, Jr. of the home; children, Alexis Shardae Matthews, Raekwon Morris Matthews, and Tykwon Allen Matthews of the home; sisters, Tarrica Cooper, Danielle Walker, Ashley Smith, Helen Nicholson, Patricia Melton and Linda Burgess; brothers, Terell Smith, James Burgess (Carolyn), John Burgess (Portia), Harold Burgess (Betty), Bobby Burgess (Tashia), Jerry Burgess (Dianne), Linwood Burgess, Joseph Hayes, and Lee Tucker (Ruth); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
