Reverend Barnabas Dee "B.D." Stone, 85, of Bailey died Sunday, May 1, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Middlesex Church of God. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery. The Reverend Ed Toler will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Middlesex Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Mildred Mae Finch Stone; one son, Steve and wife Debra of Middlesex; two daughters, Janet Stone Sauls and husband Rodger, and Beth Stone Dew and husband Robert of Wilson; one daugher-in-law, Cheryl Sanders Stone of Raleigh, three sisters, Jean Stone Burnette and husband J.D., Lucy Stone, and Joan Stone Goodman and husband Grady, all of Middlesex; two brothers James Ray Stone and wife Sonja of Wilson, B.W. Stone and wife Nancy of Bailey, his sister-in-law Jean Stone of Smithfield; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dwight Washington Stone and Dottie Lee Griffin Stone, his son, Linwood Stone, his sister Mavis Stone Batts, his brothers Raymond Grady Stone and Roland C Stone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Bible Society and Gideon's International.
