JAMES ARRINGTON


ROCKY MOUNT – James Walter "Shorty" Arrington, 86, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006. He was born May 17, 1920 in Edgecombe County, son of the late Joseph Carter Arrington and Cleo Moore Barnes Arrington. He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Wesley Arrington, one granddaughter, Andrea Lamb, three brothers, Earnest, Leroy and Fred Arrington, and two sisters, Betty Robbins and Shirley DeBow.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Sewell and husband, Mike, of Roanoke Rapids; three sons, Gary Arrington and wife, Brenda, of Elm City, Tommy Warrick and wife, Dee, of Wilson, and Randy Warrick and wife, Martha, of Akin, S.C.; one sister, Jo Ann English and husband, Mack, of Nashville; sister-in-law, Joyce Arrington of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Wallace Arrington and wife, Ruth, of Florence, S.C. and Donnie Arrington and wife, Yvonne, of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Mill Branch Cemetery with Elder D.B. Stokes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis. Tenn., 38105.
