Marleen Dempsey Edwards, 73, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was born to Kathleen and Roger Dempsey on June 7, 1942.

She is survived by husband of 54 years, Lonnie Edwards; son, Chris Edwards and his fiancé Jennifer Williams of Rocky Mount; brother, Jerry Dempsey and his wife Sue of Soddy Daisy, TN; sisters-in-law, Judy Edwards and June Hedgepeth, both of Nashville; brother-in-law, Kemp Edwards and his wife Terry of Castalia; three nieces, two nephews, five great-nephews, and one great-niece.

Services were held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Lake Gaston Baptist Church in Littleton with Rev. Todd Stout and Rev. Patrick Edwards officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Gaston Baptist Church Building Fund, 128 Lynwood Road, Littleton, NC 27850.
