Christine Rose Pierce, age 95, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Born in Nash County on October 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lucy Williams Rose. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Pierce, Sr.; two sisters, Alma Clarida and Doris Griffin; and two brothers, Junior Rose and Alvin Rose.

She is survived by her son, Robert "Bobby" H. Pierce, Jr. of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Shirley Pierce Roberts of Raleigh; four grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clifton Rose of Rocky Mount; Eugene Rose of Rocky Mount; AJ Rose of Greensboro; and Ronald Rose of Rocky Mount; and four sisters, Aileen Davis of Red Oak; Helen Jones of Red Oak; Ann Varnell of Rocky Mount and Joyce Ellis of Rocky Mount.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount with the Dr. Michael Cloer officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the service.
