Dorothy Barnes Daughtridge, 94, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016. She was born December 20, 1921 in Richmond County, Georgia to the late Martha Hester and Marvin T. Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, J. Melvin Daughtridge and also by a sister, Ruth Williams and a brother, Marvin Barnes.
She is survived by two daughters, Dottie Macklin (Wayne) of Red Oak, Susan Skinner (Berkley) of Rocky Mount and one son, Mel Daughtridge, Jr. (Linda) of Zebulon; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Kindred(Bob) of Canton, Georgia and many nieces and nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Lakeside Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. A visitation will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private.
