NASHVILLE – Thomas Frances Balland Jr., 43, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008. He was born June 25, 1964 in Long Branch, New Jersey. Thomas’s passions were children, animals, the Carolina Panthers and the Braves.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Doris J. and Philip K. Ulmer of the home and Thomas Balland Sr. and wife Pat of New Jersey; four sisters, Donna Haney and husband John Paul, Melissa Perry and husband Gregory, Terry Beattie and husband Robert, Susan Heinze and Tammy Ash; one brother, Robert Ash and wife Sandra; four nieces, Christina Scarbel, Marissa Perry, Koral Heinze and Jordyn Ash; three nephews, John Rhein Haney, Justin and Robert Joseph Ash; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. A. J. Eure Jr. officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607.
