Martha Becknell McAdams, age 79, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016. Born in Nash County on July 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Otha Eugene Becknell and Jessie Batson Becknell. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gordon Rankin McAdams.

She is survived by her husband, A. Gordon McAdams; her daughters, Mary Lynne Weaver and her husband, Todd; and Elizabeth Cobb and her husband, Mike; four grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 200 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount with Pastors Dennis Darville and Larry Curtis officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
