Jackson Theodore Sharpe, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Born in Nash County on December 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas Sharpe and Ida Edwards Sharpe. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W., William, Alton, Atlas "Pete", Grady and Thomas Sharpe.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Peele Sharpe of Rocky Mount; a daughter, Pamela Sharpe Hughes and her husband, Geoff, of Apex; two sons, Jackson Sharpe, Jr. of Arlington, WA and Dave Sharpe and his wife, Suzanne, of MacClesfield; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his sisters, Doris Webb of Elm City and Judy Sutton of Rocky Mount; his brothers, Boyd Sharpe and his wife, Rita, of Ellenboro and Milton Sharpe and his wife, Diane, of Rocky Mount; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Harry Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Branch Cemetery.
