Joann Blondell Rhodes, 81, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She was born January 3, 1934 in Halifax County. Joann was preceded in death by her parents; Marion E. Lee and Gertrude Lee; one sister, Peggy Tapia; great-granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Hinton.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, At Rhodes; three sons, William Wayne Rhodes and wife Beverly of Rocky Mount, Donald C. Rhodes and wife Sara Beth of Farmville, Bruce Neal Rhodes and wife Chrissy of Rocky Mount; two daughters, Gail R. Hinton and husband Jimmy of Rocky Mount, Deborah Jo Rhodes of Raleigh; twelve grandchildren; twenty- three great- grandchildren; in-laws, Gwen Harvey, Ann Rhodes, Mike Rhodes and wife Yvonne.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 4, 2015 from 12:30-2 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held immediately after visitation in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Porter and Rev. Joe Price officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
