Betty Britt Godwin, age 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015. Born in Atlanta, GA on October 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Guy L. Britt and Vera Buchanan Stansberry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Godwin; her two sisters, Imogene Britt Clark and Patricia Britt Boudreaux; and her brother, Guy L. Britt, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Charles P. Godwin, Jr. and his wife, Betsy, of Greenville, Osgood Clark Godwin and his wife, Anne, of Raleigh, her two daughters, Bettina Godwin Batts and her husband, Jerry, of Raleigh, and Nancy Godwin Haselden and her husband, Bill, of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2 pm at Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. Visitation will follow service in the Sugg Foyer of the Kinchloe Building.
