Jackie W. Spears, age 86, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015. Born in Halifax County on April 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. Whitehead and Margaret Bradley Whitehead. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Spears; and her sister, Margie McMullen Davis.

She is survived by her son, Richard C. Spears, Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Nokesville, VA; five grandchildren; brother, Lowell Thomas Whitehead of Danbury, CT and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at an 11 am. Committal at Pineview Cemetery with the Reverend David McBryar officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Jackie's memory to a charity of one's choosing.
