Dorothy Whitley, 83, of Nashville, passed away August 26, 2015

Dorothy was born in Rocky Mount to Alger and Mary Whitley on February 2, 1932.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Alger and Mary, and her husband, Floyd Whitley. She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Steele of Stephenville, TX; son, Michael (Melinda) Armstrong; daughters, Lynne (Stephen) Register, Connie (John) Stoudenmire, and Penny (fiancé Ric Henson) Beacham; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2015 at with Reverend Blake Dempsey of Rock Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hills Cemetery.
