NASHVILLE – Lucille Moore Womble, 96, died Monday, June 26, 2006. She was born in Nash County on March 25, 1910, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Effie Crocker Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Bisco Womble, and a grandson, Van Curtis Joyner.

Survivors include two daughters, Dewilda Joyner and Martha Waters, both of Rocky Mount; a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Keith and Gwen Davis Womble of Wendell; two brothers, Bobby J. Moore of Chesapeake, Va., and Herbert Gorham Moore of Nashville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 29, 2006, from 1-2 p.m. at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 226 S. Barnes St., Nashville. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation with the Rev. David Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
