Dewey "Book Jack" Dale, 84, of Nashville, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015. Open visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 20 at 12 noon from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hollister. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Richardson will officiate.

He is survived by his wife Betty R. Dales; daughters, Brenda Richardson of Rocky Mount, and Regina Battle (James) of Nashville; sons, Bobby Dales (lorraine) of Rocky Mount, and James Edward Dales of the home; sisters, Bertie Alston of Norfolk, Va., and Bertha Taybron of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
