Aaron Cevela Summerlin, age 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015. Born in Wayne County on April 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Luby Mcrary Summerlin and Piety Watson Summerlin.

He is survived by his wife 71 years, Zelphia Watson Summerlin; his two sons, Steven Summerlin and his wife, Patty, of Rocky Mount and Larry Summerlin of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Christine S. Braswell of Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11 am in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount with Reverend Greg O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Englewood Baptist Church Building Fund, 1350 S. Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
