Stephen "Steve" Noble Mitchell, 75, of Middlesex passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015. A funeral was held July 31, 2015 at the Middlesex Church of God Worship Center, Middlesex. The graveside service was held Saturday, August 1, 2015 in the Brantley Family Cemetery, Hwy 231, Middlesex. The Rev. Ed Toler and the Rev. Don Mitchell officiated.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Georgia Cone Mitchell of the home; his son, Darryl Mitchell and wife, Melody of Smithfield; two grandchildren; his sister, Nellie Gray Peele of Middlesex; his sisters-in-law, Cornelia Mitchell of Kenly, Jane Snell and husband, Jimmy of Middlesex and Kay Cone of Middlesex, and his brother-in-law, Dennis Cone and wife, Jordice.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Mitchell; his grandsons, Seth Douglas Mitchell and Jonathon Wayne Mitchell; his parents, Noble Guy and Maybelle Boykin Mitchell; two sisters; and three brothers.

Flowers are welcome or memorials can be made in Steve's memory to the Middlesex Church of God Worship Center, Dominican Republic Project, 5407 NC 231 South, Middlesex, NC 27557.
