William Dixon Waters, Jr., 76, of Rocky Mount passed away on July 8, 2015. He was the son of the late William Dixon Waters and the late Mary Carolyn Shearin Waters.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Greene Waters; his son, Thomas Waters and his wife Christi of Indiana; step-daughters, Mary Newell and her husband Kevin of Raleigh and Carol Cox and her husband Bruce of Raleigh; step-son, Edward Fleming and his wife Amy of Elon; sister, Ann W. Beard and her husband John of Rocky Mount; and brother, John A. Waters of Florence, AL. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

A service will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 pm with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. A visitation for family and friends will follow the services in the Sugg Foyer of the Education Building.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Youth Program at Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
