Arbutus Alston Hilliard, 89, of Nashville, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Scott officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Hilliard-Clark, of Raleigh, Stella Hilliard Price, and her husband Russell, of Derwood, MD and Arneice Hilliard Bowen and her husband, Linwood, of Greensboro; two sons, Avery D. Hilliard, and his wife, Bettie, of Doswell, VA and Christopher H. Hilliard and his wife, Ingrid, of Nashville; sisters, Pargellan McCall, of Hackensack, NJ; Lessie Eason of Hawthorne, NJ; Lonia Abbott and husband Frank of Kinston; Julia Dyanne Jackson, and her husband, Steve, of NY; brothers, Harold Alston, of Hackensack, NJ, William Levi Alston and his wife, Julia of Daculta, GA; and Walter Alston and his wife, Selma, of Lanham, MD; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
