Alvanell Martin Denton, 73, passed away May 27, 2015. She was born June 21, 1941 in Nash County to the late Marcus and Effie Lilley Martin. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Margie Lancaster.
She is survived by her husband, John William Denton, Sr., one son, John W. Denton, Jr. and wife Laura Jean; one daughter, Vicky Dean Denton; two brothers, Harold and George Martin; two sisters, Dean Roberson and Deborah Joyner; seven grandchildren,.
A funeral service was held Saturday, May 30, 2015 the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
