William A. (Bill) Newkirk, age 67 of Spring Hope, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Durham VA Medical Center in Durham.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Spaulding Resource Center, Spring Hope with Pastor James Gailliard officiating. Interment followed at Meeks Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three sons, William Newkirk, III (Corliss) of Zebulon, Keith Newkirk (Shelia) of Wilson and Darius Newkirk of Spring Hope; daughter-in-law, Mickey Newkirk of Spring Hope; three step-children, Tawanda "Candy" Salvage (John), Terrell Richardson (Joyce) and David Richardson (Dot) all of Spring Hope; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Newkirk (Brenda) of Durham and Alvin "Budney" Newkirk of Spring Hope; brothers-in-law, Al Wayne Lucas of Raleigh, Larry Wardrick (Lossie) of Castalia and Lawrence Wardrick (Felisha) of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Queen Perry of Spring Hope, Vella Beauford of Ashland, OH, Lucille Cordell of Mansfield, OH, Doris Whitehead (Curtis) of Tarboro, Brenda Leonard and Betty Kearney of Raleigh, JoeDell Richardson (Dan) of Spring Hope, Brenda Coley of Louisburg, and Vernell Allen (James) of Castalia; mother-in-law, Emma Wardrick of Castalia; two aunts, Carrie Brinkley of Spring Hope and Evelyn Woods of New York.Arrangements by William Toney's Funeral Home, Spring Hope.
