Bessie C. Oliver, the middle daughter of the late Van Buren and Emma Poland Catlett, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born in Nash County on December 5, 1924. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Ford Turner, Sr.; her second husband, Oliver Percy Walker (Billy); sisters, Aletha Catlett Skinner and Lessie Catlett Russ; and two infant sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Warner Oliver; her children, Ray Turner and wife Jackie of Snellville, GA; Ronnie Turner and wife Nancy of Rocky Mount; Randy Turner and wife Bevelie of Rocky Mount; Ricky Walker and wife Gina of Nashville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Mike Coggin and Pastor Roy Porter officiating. Burial will be held at Pineview Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the funeral home. Flowers are graciously accepted.
