Madeline Baker Winstead, age 89, passed away on February 22, 2015. She was born March 14, 1925, in Nash County,  to George Dallas Baker and Mary Lewis Baker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wiley Leaston Winstead, her brother, Jethro Dallas Baker, step brother, Edward Joyner and step-sister, Gertrude Langley.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Winstead Willingham and husband, Bill, of Marianna FL; two grandsons; step-brother, Horace Joyner, of Rocky Mount; brother-in-law, Aaron Winstead, sisters-in-law Virginia Winstead and Annette Winstead of Rocky Mount and Nellie Rhea Winstead of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28 at 3 pm at Sandy Cross United Methodist Church, Nashville, with the Rev. Carol Dean and Chaplain Will Hoyle officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandy Cross United Methodist Church, 3725 Sandy Cross Road, Nashville, NC 27856.
