George Leeford “Booney” Boone, Jr. passed away on February 11, 2015 in Rocky Mount,   at the age of 71.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Bass Boone of Rocky Mount; his wife Marilyn Taylor Boone; brother Van Boone and wife Deborah of Battleboro; brother Jonathan Boone and wife Paula of Rocky Mount; sister Sheila Mellman of Columbus, OH; his children George Leeford Boone, III and wife Leigh of Bel Air, MD; Fred Van Boone and wife Ashley of Raleigh; Jennifer Boone Bemisderfer and husband Jake Bemisderfer of Alexandria, VA and Suzanne Boone Wedekind and husband Lee D. Wedekind, III of Jacksonville, FL and 12 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, George L. Boone, Sr., of Dortches.
A funeral was held Saturday, February 14th at Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Rucker Burnette  officiating.   Burial   followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
