Braxton Lee Sherrod, age 71, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Born June 12, 1943 in Nash County, he was the son of the late Willie Sherrod and Lela Vick Sherrod.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Rogers Sherrod of Rocky Mount; daughter, Jennifer Sherrod Bowden and her husband, Thurman of Nashville; stepson, John Michael Morgan and his wife, Angie of Sims; three grandchildren; sister, Jane S. Smith and her husband, Douglas of Rocky Mount;  brothers, Daniel Sherrod of Rocky Mount,  and Charlie Sherrod of Marietta, GA.
A funeral service was held  Saturday, February 7, 2015  at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rocky Mount  with Bishop Mark Bateman officiating. Burial  followed the services at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashville Church of God, 606 S. Clark Street, Nashville, NC 27856 for the purpose of distant missions work.
