Norman Andre Whitley, age 72, of Rocky Mount, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Born February 14, 1942 in Wilson County,   he was the son of the late Eddie Thomas Whitley and Bessie Griffin Whitley. In addition to his parents, Norman is predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Whitley; sisters, Esther W. Wiggins, Virginia W. Balkeum, Frances W. Edwards and Margaret W. Martin; and brothers, Clyde Whitley, David Whitley and Harvey Whitley.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cossairt Whitley; daughter, Pam Whitley Farmer of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; sisters, Ethel W. McSwan of Lamar, CO, Helen W. Swindle of Rocky Mount, and Mavis W. Lanier of Rocky Mount; brothers, Kenneth Whitley of Rocky Mount,   and Eddie Whitley of Rocky Mount.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 2 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rocky Mount, with Reverend Johnny Phillips and Reverend John Browning officiating. Burial will follow the services at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Andre’s memory may be made to First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Boulevard, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
