ROCKY MOUNT – Cornelia B. Adams, 82, died Saturday, June 17, 2006. She was born Aug. 4, 1923 in Nash County, the daughter of the late John Neal and Georgia Myrtle Avent Davis. She was the widow of Hubert J. Barnes, Mark R. Ruffin and William Adams, and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Mae Anderson and Mary Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Georgia Barnes of San Jose, Calif., Judson Barnes, Debbie and Bob Bobbitt, Carlton and Faye Ruffin, Ronnie and Carolyn Ruffin, all of Rocky Mount, and Mike and Robbie Ruffin of Durham; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Arlington Baptist Church with Dr. William Tomlinson officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday night and other times at the home.
