Penelope Jenkins Harris, wife of the late Charles W. Harris, of Kinston, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents; Samuel F. Jenkins and Mary Baker Jenkins; and her sisters, Mary Baker Jenkins Melvin, Ellen Jenkins Townsend, and Ann Blount Jenkins Warren.
She is survived by her daughter, Penelope J. Harris of Nashville; her son, C. Warren Harris Jr. and his wife Marion Tull Edwards Harris of Morganton; two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Brody School of Medicine East Carolina University 600 Moye Blvd. Greenville, NC 27834.
