NASHVILLE – Mary Elizabeth Smith Rackley, 87 passed away July 13, 2014. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond Holand Rackley, Jr.; parents Thomas Albert Smith and Sarah Long Smith; brothers Hubert, David, Floyd, Albert Jr. and sisters, Lottie, Helen and Doris.
She is survived by her daughters; Joan Rackley Eason and her husband Ray of Louisburg; Deborah Rackley Massey and her husband Phil of Zebulon; son Timothy Holland Rackley and wife Terri of Rocky Mount;  sister, Eunice Mitchell of Scotland Neck; five grandchildrenfour great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Dortches Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Barton officiating. Burial followed at Red Oak Cemetery.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dortches Baptist Church.
