Lewis “Wayne” Bridgers, age 72, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Born November 24, 1941 in Edgecombe County, he was the son of the late Don Paul Bridgers and Lida Mae Killebrew Bridgers. He was raised in Macclesfield.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicki Sallee Bridgers; daughter, Angela Lewis and husband Daniel of Rocky Mount; son, Patrick Bridgers of Macclesfield; three grandchildren; sister, Gail Elkin and companion Dale Nute of Ormond Beach FL; brother, Don Patrick Bridgers and wife Dorothy of Andrews SC.
A memorial service was held  Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Mills officiating.
