Mildred Joyner Weeks passed away  June 6, 2014. Mrs. Weeks, 101, was born in Rocky Mount on December 31, 1912 and was the daughter of the late William Dorsey Joyner and Mattie Hales Joyner and the widow of George Lafayette Weeks.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Weeks Fink, son-in-law Charles Van Fink of Midlothian, Virginia; two grandsons; sister Martha Joyner Adkins of Rocky Mount along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pineview Cemetery on Wednesday, June 11 at 11a.m. conducted by Rev. Peter Bynum of First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Weeks requested that donations be made to My Sister’s House of Rocky Mount, P.O. Box 7665, Rocky Mount, NC 27804-0665 or at www.mysistershousenc.org
