NASHVILLE -  Brenda Sikes Gurganus  passed away May 15, 2014. Born in Nash County on August 25, 1969, she was the daughter of Lois Joyner Sikes of Rocky Mount and the late Chester Sikes.
Along with her mother Lois, she leaves behind her husband, Robbie Gurganus; sons, Parker Helms, Blake Helms and Christian Gurganus; sisters, Teresa Sikes Morris and husband Tim of Elm City and Phyllis Sikes Warrick and husband Herman of Rocky Mount; brothers, Tim Sikes and wife Jan and Phillip Sikes and wife Allison, both of Rocky Mount; father and mother-in-law, Ed and Janet Gurganus of Rocky Mount; and her brother-in-law, Richard Gurganus and wife Lisa of Rocky Mount.
A service was held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Church on the Rise, Rocky Mount with Pastor Richard Gurganus and Dr. Wendy Minton Edwards officiating.  Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
