SANDY CROSS – Bonnie Edwards Baker, 86, of the Sandy Cross Community, died Friday, June 9, 2006. She was born April 17, 1920 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Dalma Edwards and Bessie Edwards Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce C. Baker, sisters Effie Strickland, Bertie Barden, Nannie Ree Whitley, Hazel Edwards, and brothers Coleman Edwards, Therman Edwards and Dalma Edwards.

Survivors include her Csister Addilene Leonard of Louisburg; daughter Bonita Davis and husband, Ray, of Sandy Cross; sons Kenneth Baker and wife, Janet, and Shelton Baker, all of Sandy Cross; sisters-in-law Ella Jean Edwards and Rose Edwards, both of Spring Hope, and Julie Baker of Sandy Cross; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home with the Rev. Will Hoyle and the Rev. Jimmy Reavis officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
