Samuel Joseph Drake, 61, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014. Sammy was born in Nash County to the late William Joseph and Elaine Manning Drake.
He is survived by his  his wife of 22 years, Janice Drake; son, Samuel Joseph Drake, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Ann Drake; step-sons, Andy J. Weede and wife Amy, Alan S. Weede and wife Sofia; brother, Larry Drake and wife Betty Lou; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many extended family members including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service was held  Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.
