Bethel Morgan Thorne, age 90, passed away  Friday, January 17, 2014. Born in Nash County on November 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Morgan and Ida Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Martin Thorne Jr. in 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy May and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro and Gale Joyner and husband, Stewart, of Battleboro; two sons, Jimmy Thorne and wife, Debbie, of Rocky Mount and Dennis Thorne and wife, Cindy, of Battleboro; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held January 20, 2014 at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating.
