Sara “Sally” Leonard Kirkwood, 88, of Rocky Mount died December 4, 2013.  She was born in Pittsburg, PA on June 18, 1925.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William C. Kirkwood, children; Gary L. Kirkwood and wife Nancy, Laurie Ezzell and husband John, sisters; Patricia Price and Janice Muse; four grandchildren; three  great-grandchildren.
 A memorial service was held Monday, December 9, 2013   at The Church of the Good Shepherd with the Reverend Amy Huacani presiding. Inurnment  followed after the service in the Columbarium located in the Woodard Garden in the North Court Yard.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Outreach Commission of The Church of the Good Shepherd.
