Virgie Southall Womble, 97, passed away on November 3, 2013. She was born May 16, 1916 to Bessie Anna and Seth Elmer “Dick” Southall. Her husband James L. “Sol” Womble, preceded her in death along with her brother, Dick Southall and sister, Eleanor Mae Hedgepeth.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Moore and husband, Doug of Fountain and son, Jim Womble and wife, Brenda of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 6, at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville with her nephew, Jeff Hedgepeth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount 27804 or Elm Grove Baptist Church, 2385 Old Bailey Highway Nashville, NC 27856.
