Ruth Dickens Robbins, age 81, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013.  Born in Nash County on December 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Dickens and Lessie Breedlove Dickens. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Marice Dickens.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Grover Lee Robbins; daughter, Jane Kimberly Robbins Journigan and husband Neil of the Aventon Community; two grandchildren; brother, Charles Wesley Dickens Jr. and wife Peggie of Rocky Mount.
A service was held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Gearhart officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
