Albert Vernon Edwards, age 83, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013. Born in Robeson County on July 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Samuel Cary Edwards and Artie L. Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Edward; and sister, Veronia Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jimmie Baxley Edwards; daughters, Carol Lancaster (Joe) of Raleigh and Nancy Rhodes (Charles) of Concord; sons, William Edwards (Margaret) of Rocky Mount and Ronnie Edwards (Teresa) of Nashville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Gillford of Rocky Mount.
A service was held September 29, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. Burial  followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
