Thelma Gray Holloman Carstens, known to many as “Sissy” and “Nanny”, passed away  on September 10, 2013. Born in Wake County, on June 1, 1936, she was the daughter to the late Mable Peele and Jesse Gray Holloman of Rocky Mount. Thelma is also preceeded in death by siblings, Robert Lee Holloman(Dorothy), Floyd Edward Holloman (Marie), and Jeslyn Dawe(Craig); nephews, Michael Ross Holloman and William Aubrey Holloman, Jr.
She is survived by her husband John Robert Carstens, Jr of Rocky Mount, son Jeffrey D Holloman of Nashville, brothers, Fletcher Ross Holloman (Peggy) of Rocky Mount, Willam Aubrey Hollomen (Peggy) of Rocky Mount, and Zeb Taylor; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; several neices and nephews, and great neices and nephews
A visitation was held Sunday, September 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, Rocky Mount.
