Beverly Pigg Barnes, age 91, passed away Sunday, September 01, 2013. Born January 26, 1922 in Pageland, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Arley Boyd Pigg and Mayme Watts Pigg. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert B. “Doodle” Barnes; brothers, Curtis L. Pigg, T.B. Pigg and Gary Pigg; sisters, Mildred Blackmon, Mary P. Terry and Margie P. Broome; nieces, Frances P. McHaffey, Donna Pigg, Gail Pigg and Judy Davis Shearin; and nephews, C.L. Pigg Jr, Jimmy Pigg and Scott McHaffey; and great-nephew, Gary Doc McHaffey.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Barnes Bowen of Rocky Mount; brother, Elton Pigg of Pageland SC;.

A gathering of friends will be 7 - 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US 64 Alt West Hwy, Rocky Mount NC 27801.
