William Earl Holmes Sr., 83, formally of Wade, departed this life on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Husband of the late Thelma Alston Holmes.

Funeral services were held   Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Church of God of Deliverance located on 140 East Goldleaf Street Rocky Mount. The interment took place immediately after the Service in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Nashville.
