THOMAS MELTON “TOM” CORBETT


NASHVILLE - Mr. Tom went home on Monday July 23rd with his children and grandchildren by his side. He was born on February 7, 1919 in Echlos County Georgia. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Katie I. Corbett.

Mr. Tom was a World War II Veteran. He was a lifetime farmer and loved his cows. He had a loving heart that always helped anyone.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cleo Bunn Corbett; daughter, Judi C. Stone; son –law- Elmo Powell and sister Tommy Jean Parker.

He is survived by daughter, Clara C. Powell of Nashville; son and daughter-n-law, Larry and Elaine Corbett of Nashville; grandchildren, Stephen Corbett of Nashville, Sandy and Randy Temple of Sharpsburg, Adrian and Stephanie Powell of Nashville, Joyce and Steven Harvey of Nashville, Laurie and Mike Oliver of Nashville and Shelly Harris of Marshboro, great-grandchildren, Braxton Oliver, Bowie Oliver and Katie Grace Oliver all of Nashville and Wade Harris of Marshboro.

Sister and brother-n-law, Jeffery Coleman and W.L. Coleman of Georgia, along with nieces and nephews. He had a host of friends, neighbors and extended family.

His services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Nashville with the Rev. Norris Cook officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 –8:30 at the funeral home and other times at the family’s home. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Nash General for their care and concern.
