Ruth Matthews, 74, passed away Saturday June 15, 2013. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Laura Mallow, two sisters, Dorothy “Toot” Vance, and an infant sister.  

Ruth is survived by her husband, John H. Matthews, son, John Jacob Matthews (Christine), daughters, Desiree Testerman (Edsel), Lisa O’Neal (Ivey Keith), Angela Parnell (Keith Curtis) and five brothers, Virgil, Ralph, Bob, Donald, Fred Mallow, ten grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday June 18, 2013 at at Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church 1779 Mount Zion Church Rd, Nashville with Rev. Ronnie Aycock and Rev. Larry Matthews.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church in honor of Ruth Matthews.
