Brice Sylvester Poland, Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013. He was born November 15, 1931 in Nash County to the late James Elmer and Lessie Winstead Poland.

He is survived by his wife Louise Bone Poland, one son, Brice Sylvester Poland, Jr. and wife, Debra, one daughter, Betsy Poland Nicholson, six brothers, D. Eugene Poland, O.N. “Tom” Poland, R. Alvin Poland, James A. Poland, Jerry Q. Poland, Bobby Carlton Poland, two sisters, Tempie Poland Dillard, and Dell Poland Carpenter; four grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.

A memorial service was held Monday, May 27, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A private burial was held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Williams Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzhiemer’s Association will be appreciated.
