Jimmy Darrell Joyner, age 75, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Born in Nash County on November 30, 1937, he was the son of the late James Raymond Joyner and Lessie Dawes Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dunn Joyner.

He is survived by his daughter, Erin Joyner Manning and husband Robert of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter; two sisters, Doris Rieke of Indiana and Linda Smith of Virginia; nieces and nephews. A graveside service was  held Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

His wishes are for no flowers but memorials to be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington DC 20077 or the American Red Cross, 326 S. Franklin Street, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
