Rosa B. Winstead, 83, of Shore Drive, Rocky Mount, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, in Nash General Hospital.  She was born June 4, 1929 in Beaufort County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Myrtle Beacham; sisters, Essie Latham, Irene Roberson, and Mattie Beacham; brothers, Lyman and Russell Beacham; and her first husband, George Henry Asby.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin Winstead. Also, surviving are her children, Alvin Asby (Martha) of Battleboro, Patricia Jones (Claude) of Washington, Janet Hodge (Gordon) of Rocky Mount, and Gary Winstead of the home; and her brother, Clarence Beacham of Washington; She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held  Friday, March 29, 2013 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
