Joyce Ivey Swain, 86, passed away February 28, 2013. She was born in Franklin County on September 12, 1926 the daughter of the late Waverly Howard Ivey and Anna Stone Ivey. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Oliver Ivey, Waverly Ivey, and Bernard Ivey, and her sister, Margaret Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur Scott Swain, Jr.; children, Wilbur Scott Swain, III (Karen), Carol Swain Hall (Randy); and two grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral  Home, Rocky Mount, with Pastor Connie Button officiating. Buria followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
