Frances Geraldine Land Batchelor, 78, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013.  She was born in Nash County on May 18, 1934 to the late Columbus Land and Ella Land. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Wright Batchelor, son; Jerry Wright Batchelor, brothers; Charlie and Billy Land and sister; Peggy Johnson.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Lynn Batchelor and wife Brenda Jackson Batchelor, sisters; Ella Jean Edwards, Bertha Hendricks and Nancy Edwards and husband Sonny of Spring Hope and Patsy Mangum of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
